Top Eco Friendly Swaps UK: A Beginner’s Guide to Zero Waste

The throwaway industry earns when things end up in the bin. We earn when nothing does. That is why a Blockhütte product comes apart: lid, seal, divider, clasp, stopper, brush, pouch, even the body. Every one of them has its own page in this shop. When a seal gives up after a few years, you buy a seal, not a new box.
The size option on this page names the product the part fits, not the size of the part itself. Match it to the item you already own: the volume printed on your bottle, flask or box. Where one part covers two sizes, the option says so, and where a size needs its own part, it is listed on its own.
This is not a generic replacement. It is the part we build into the product, to the same specification: 18/8 stainless steel where the part is steel, food-grade silicone where it seals, 100% cotton where it carries, natural bristle where it cleans. Nothing that touches food is coated, and nothing is a lesser version because it is sold on its own.
Order by 11am UK time on a working day and your parcel leaves the same day, packed by the founders. Delivery is £4.49 and free on orders over £49, so a single seal is often worth adding to a larger order. The price you see is the price you pay: VAT included, no customs charges on delivery.
Since 2021, every Blockhütte product has contributed to climate protection through our partnership with ClimatePartner. A spare part is the most direct form of that: the piece that keeps a product in service instead of replacing it. Your order ships in a fully recyclable, plastic-free cardboard box, and every product we make carries a 3-year guarantee.
The seal, almost always, because it is the only part that stays wet. Lift the silicone ring out when you deep clean, wash it in warm soapy water, dry it and dry the groove it sits in, then refit it. Replace it when it no longer sits flush, when the lid starts to let liquid past, or when a smell survives a proper wash.
Brushes go when the bristles splay out and stop reaching the base. Cotton pouches are hand wash only, warm water at about 30 °C. Everything made of steel outlasts all of it: 18/8 stainless steel is non-porous, so it takes on neither smell nor taste.
Lids, seals, dividers, clasps, stoppers, brushes, pouches, even the bottle body: each one is in the shop as its own article. That is a design decision, not a service afterthought. A product that cannot be taken apart cannot be repaired, and a product that cannot be repaired has an expiry date.
A spare seal is already in the box when your product arrives, and so is a 100% cotton pouch. The food flask additionally ships with a spare stopper set. What you buy on this page is the next one.
